Job Description:

As the Data Analyst on the Canada Reporting Center of Excellence (COE) team, you will be working with a team of financial professionals to build out a suite of impactful business intelligence products and solutions to support Financial Reporting within Canada.

Reporting to the Manager, Business Intelligence, the Data Analyst will oversee and drive continuous improvement for the Canada Finance Tableau site. In this role, the Data Analyst will slice and dice data to uncover business insights, create easy-to-use visualizations and tools, and refresh and create reports to support the business in interpreting data and making informed decisions.

What will you do?

• Work as part of team to translate business needs into descriptive and diagnostic analytics product

• Support steps in analysis that includes data gathering, requirements specification, analysis, and presentations

• Apply expertise in descriptive & diagnostic techniques to solve business problems

• Provide BI solutions support including capturing end user issues, troubleshooting, identifying the root cause, offering potential solutions or workarounds, documenting solutions, and following up to ensure resolution

• Develop and maintain documentation of environment and processes

• Continuously learn techniques, methods, best practices, and build business awareness

What do you need to succeed?

• B.Sc. Computer Science, Mathematics, Stats, Engineering, or equivalent work experience

• 1+ years of professional experience with descriptive statistical techniques, business intelligence and visualization

• Demonstrated experience with statistical and reporting software (i.e., Tableau, SQL, Python, SAS, R)

• Comfortable writing standard SQL queries to extract and integrate data from a variety of different data sources

• Experience with financial reporting is an asset

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
