Ø Greet and escort customers to their tables
Ø Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
Ø Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware and glasses
Ø Offer menu recommendations upon request
Ø Up-sell additional products when appropriate
Ø Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a pos ordering software, order slips or by memorization
Ø Communicate order details to the kitchen staff
Ø Serve food and drink orders
Ø Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
Ø Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
Ø Deliver checks and collect bill payments
Ø Carry dirty plates, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
Ø Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes on the menu and service specifications for reservations (e.g. Parties)
Ø Follow all relevant health department regulations
Ø Ensure the guest feels important and welcome in the restaurant
Ø Ensure hot food is hot and cold food is cold/ adhere to timing standards for products and services
Ø Look for ways to consolidate service and increase table turns
Ø Present menu, answer questions and make suggestions regarding food and beverage
Ø Serve the guest in an accommodating manner
Ø Pre-bus tables; maintain table cleanliness, bus tables
Ø Looks for ways to avoid waste and limit costs
Ø Assist in keeping the restaurant clean and safe
Ø Deliver food and beverages to any table as needed
Ø Must follow all cash handling policies and procedures
Ø Report to property on time and in proper uniform
Ø Arranging and cleaning dining area/toilets;
Ø Communicate with kitchen staff regarding special requests or comments;
Ø Asking customer’s feedback about food;
Ø Packaging of take away orders / taking and delivery orders outside
